Thawing whole turkeys in the fridge:
Place the turkey in its original wrap on a tray or in a pan to catch the moisture that accumulates as it thaws.

Thawing in cold water:
Check the wrapper to make sure there are no tears, and place the turkey in its unopened bag in the sink or in a large container and cover it with cold water. Change the water every 30 minutes to assure safe effective thawing.

Time To Cook
 
Place your turkey breast-side up on a flat rack in a shallow open pan (about 2 inches deep) in a 325 degrees Fahrenheit oven. When about two-thirds done shield breast with foil to prevent overcooking.
